Air shows never get old for me, even though I've worked with aircraft for almost 15 years and been going to air shows for over 20. I've worked at Patuxent River since 1997 as an aeromechanical engineer, and I even did some work on some of the aircraft on static display. Air shows are held at Pax River every other year, but I believe that this is only the third time that I've made it to one. The weather for this one was glorious, and checking out the practice shows with only minimal crowds allowed for some good shooting. The first series of aerial and static shots were taken on Thursday during the Blue Angels' run-through, and most of the rest of the shots were taken during the practice show on Friday. The last couple of shots were taken on Sunday from a different vantage point, from Solomons Island across the Patuxent River. For more pictures from the show, check out the flickr set. |
