Ulana happened upon this field on her way home from La Plata after crossing the 231 Benedict Bridge. This field of tobacco plants contains triangular stands to promote drying of the leaves.

We don't see as much of this as we used to, as many farmers took the state of Maryland's 1999 offer to stop farming tobacco in favor of soybeans and other alternatives. Although it wasn't the best shooting weather, I think it was worth a trip back here with our camera gear to get these shots...
