As a child, my family and I went to Wildwood, New Jersey for summer vacation almost every year. The huge, clean beaches and humongous Boardwalk filled multiple piers of rides and stores made me spoiled for anything else. Not far from Wildwood is Cape May, a much quieter town that boasts hundred of restored Victorian houses and is known as one of the premier Bed and Breakfast destinations in the country. We rarely spent too much time there, as it's generally less child-friendly than Wildwood. My wife and I procrastinated a bit in finding a more "exotic" vacation in 2005 and ended up spending the week after Labor Day in Cape May, visiting Wildwood one night. A lot of things had changed in Wildwood, especially since the summer crowds had left by the time we arrived, but certain things remained the same, as I'll detail in the photos. I posted these pictures to my flickr account as well, where there's a neat feature that allows you to see all of these pictures in a map view to get an idea of where they were taken. |
