I had to travel to Edwards Air Force Base, California for a training class back in September. It was still very hot then, but I did get to sightsee a bit after the last day of class ended early. I headed north to Mojave, CA, home of the world's first SpacePort, among other things. From there I drove up to Red Rock Canyon State Park, which was well worth the trip. I wish it hadn't been so hot (110 degrees F!), because there were some neat hiking trails, but the heat was too much for me to attempt that in the middle of the afternoon. For more photos from my trip, check out my flickr set. Also, check out my aviation gallery with aircraft on display at Edwards Air Force Base here. |
