Our two-week vacation in September 2006 to Scotland yielded a lot of photos, almost 1500 between the two of us. The weather cooperated nicely for the most part, with only two really bad days of rain. That's not to say that it wasn't rainy or foggy on other days; however, there is something to be said about a moody, foggy Scottish landscape. :-)

All of our arrangements except airfare were made through Mclean Scotland, and they did a great job handling the details and coming up with an exciting itinerary. As on our last couple of vacations, we rented a vehicle and drove ourselves, allowing us to make unscheduled stops and detours as necessary. Our itinerary was designed with several day stops in cities with day trips to nearby sights. We enjoyed this arrangement a lot better than the one we had on our trip to Ireland, in which we had to be in a new guest house each night.

Our trip to Scotland has been one of my favorite vacations, and I look forward to returning to visit some of the places we missed as well as revisit some of our favorite destinations from this trip.
