As I mentioned in the Seattle 2007 gallery, after spending a couple of days in Seattle we headed off to Vancouver. We stayed downtown walking distance from General Motors Place, where The Police were playing the second show of their reunion tour. I thought that the concert was great, and despite later reports from Stewart Copeland himself claiming that it was "lame," I highly enjoyed it. Of course, I am biased and was probably just in awe... ;-) Vancouver is a great city, and we were able to see a lot of it on foot. We particularly enjoyed the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden in the heart of Chinatown. We dined at an awesome pizza place called Incendio, where I sampled their "Ukrainian Angst" pizza that featured potato slices on the pie. Mmm... On our way out, we detoured through beautiful Stanley Park before heading across the river to North Vancouver to satisfy Ulana's desire to cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I couldn't manage to even step on that swinging bridge precariously located high above a river gorge, but Ulana was a trooper and didn't have much of a problem. I wish we had more time to further explore Vancouver, as we really enjoyed the couple of days we had there... |
